Today's The Big Day (1-8-2009)

Sorry I'm last posting this

It's finally here Today is the day we get to see Our Soldier YaY. We are leaving the house around 9 AM since it's a 3 hour drive to the airport. It's going to be me,the kids and my in laws. We figured we would leave early even thou he isn't suppose to be here until after 4 PM but we want to be in the area in case they bump him to an earlier flight.

My Mil is like me beyond excited to see her son. I can't wait to see the look on Ashllies face when she sees her daddy. She still has no clue that she is seeing him today. That and I hope Kevin Jr don't freak out with daddy since he was 6 months old when daddy left.

This has been the longest I have ever been away from my hubby since we met 16 years ago the longest before was only 4 months. I'm just sooo happy we get to see and spend the next 15 days with him. Then he has to go back to the sand box for another 6 months to a year not sure which.

As of right now he isn't on American soil but he will be in a few hours and later today he will be in Minnesota freezing his azz off where he belongs.

We got a call from DH that he was able to get an earlier flight. So we left and got there around noon.DD kept asking why we were there and grandma told her she was there to pick up a good friend. Poor thing was like so why am I here. Closer to when he was suppose to depart the plane DD wanted to leave but we told her to kept looking through the door.

Finally his plane landed at 1:15 PM and all these people kept coming through the doors. When finally DD spotted him,her eyes light up and she ran over to DH screaming. She gave him biggest hug and kiss I have ever seen her give. Kevin Jr took to DH he gave his daddy a hug then laid his head on his shoulder and he didn't want to let go it was so sweet.

It was so great to see my Soldier. I felt like I never wanted the moment to end. A rush of emotions poured out like no tomorrow. I'm so thankful he is safe and home with us for 15 days.

Thanksgiving Dinner (Pictures) November 27th,2008

Sorry this is almost a week late but I finally uploaded a few of the pictures I took that day. We spent the day at my Brother in Law's house with his wife and children. Also my Father and Mother in Law and My Sister in Law's Parents.

We got to see Kevin on the Webcam and he watched us eat and then he was able to call us from The SandBox which was really nice. We all got a chance to talk to him except for Jr because he fell asleep before Kevin called.

Thanksgiving was also Jr's first Turkey holiday and he turned 11 months old.

Congratulations KMS Football team !!!! On Winning State

I'm so happy right now,Our small hometown football team made history.

They just won Class A State Championship at the Metordome in Minneapolis,MN.

My daughter, nephews and in laws were there to see it. An my soldier and hero was able to hear the whole game in Iraq as was I over the internet.

I love being a part of a small community and I'm so proud of all the hard work our football team did to get to this victory.

12 Days Already Gone

So I figured I'd better start somewhere.

It's been 12 days since hubby left and I can't say the next time we will see him but I can't wait for him to be home. He gets to come home for 5 days before he leaves the USA and then off to Foreign Lands.

When he is home we are going to take the children to the County Fair. Since hubby won't be here for the Big Minnesota State Fair. I'm just happy that we get to take Bubba to his first fair with daddy while he is still a baby. Ashllie went to her first fair when she was 3 months and Bubba aka Kevin Jr will be 7 months.

We also plan on just spending alot of time together because we want to make sure that Allie and Bubba and me enjoy having our soldier home.

A Military Wife's Prayer Author Unknown

Give me greatness of heart to see,The difference between duty and his love for me.
Give me understanding so that I may know,When duty calls him, he must go.
Give me a task to do each day,To fill the time while he is away.
When he's in a foreign land,Keep him safe in your loving hand.
And Lord, when duty is in the field,Please protect him and be his shield.
And Lord, when deployment is so long,Please stay with me and keep me strong.
